Our Sunny Days: Manhwa Review

You might see a BL with a baby and immediately think ‘omegaverse’, but that’s not what’s happening in Our Sunny Days. Instead, our main character, Sung Ho, got the surprise of his life when his ex-girlfriend showed up to his doorstep with a baby and told him her work was done. He had been in the US military for years, but being Korean, he decides to move back to the Korean countryside to raise his kid. The issue is Sung Ho has no family and very flimsy ties to Korea. So he’s about to embark on a very challenging stage of life.

He moves into a small farming town with no job and no car, just his baby and traditional house with a small farm lot.

Then, on his first day, he has a run-in with the owner of the only convenience store in town. He quickly learns that this man, Kwon Haebom, is the head of the village. He will soon become the person closest to Sung Ho (after his daughter, of course).

I could not shake the idea that Haebeom looks like Toji Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen, which I’ll admit made the story funnier to me. He has a sort of erratic personality, displaying that typical ‘outwardly grumpy, secretly a sweetheart’ type, while Sung Ho is very calm and easy-going. Their interactions are both funny and cute.

Our Sunny Days is the first manhwa I reviewed and also the first one I’ve read in years.

One thing I loved was the fact it’s all in color. It makes for a very pleasant reading experience, as well as enriching the countryside landscape and the richness of summer. It’s a lighthearted read with some interesting plot lines that don’t solely focus on the main relationship. Which is always a good sign in romance. I’m curious to read more about the personal conflicts that started brewing for both of them, and how that will inform their relationship (which is getting flirty) moving forward.

Seven Seas released Our Sunny Days Volume 1 on March 17th, 2026. Volume 2 is coming out on August 18th, 2026.
