Sun Haven is a cozy farming sim that combines managing a farm with a story-driven adventure. I love the fantasy element of this game, as you can choose to be one of the many races in this world, such as angel, demon, elf, elemental, and more! The game contains four major areas to explore, from the medieval town of Sun Haven to the elven forests of Nel’Vari; the monster city of Withergate to the underwater Brinestone Deeps! I have 70+ hours on this game and every moment has been incredibly fun. Load up with your friends to decorate cozy homes, tend to crops, and battle monsters together.
Build your farm and relationships with townsfolk, or forge ahead on a quest of magic, monsters, and dragons. Level up through a skill tree in 8 person multiplayer, or adventure solo!
2. It Takes Two

It Takes Two is the perfect wholesome co-op game to play with a partner or friend! This game was created purely for co-op. You have to work together to cross unexpected obstacles and solve puzzles. The story is heartfelt and hilarious, and you’ll find yourself laughing with each and bringing your best problem-solving cap out. Only one person needs to own the game – your co-op partner can join via the friend pass!

3. Sackboy: A Big Adventure

I’ve been playing Sackboy games since LittleBigPlanet on the Playstation 3, so I may be biased, but this is the best 3D co-op platformer game to play with friends. The stages/levels are vibrant and fun, the music is upbeat, and there are hundreds of skins to customize your sackboy with which are completely free (unlockable by playing) – generally just a feel-good game that’s also family-friendly!

4. Minecraft

If you’re only aware of Minecraft in passing, you might be wondering how this block-based sandbox game that’s been out for over a decade can be cozy. May I present to you: modpacks and shaders! I’ve been playing “cozy minecraft” for two years with various modpacks on Curseforge, such as Homestead – A Cozy Survival Experience (most recently) and Cobblemon, a Pokemon modpack that lets you catch Pokemon throughout your adventure. You can battle friends with your Pokemon and travel together like Ash/Red with their companions. If your PC can run them, I highly recommend Complementary Shaders or BSL shaders. 5. Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is one of the more comforting multiplayer cozy games for me. I love being able to play alongside Disney and Pixar characters to create a cozy home for myself and restore the valley to help everyone remember their home. From Toy Story to Halloween Town, there are plenty of familiar worlds you’ll be able to step into. I played the game before co-op was released and I can attest that both the single player and multiplayer are fun!

6. Palworld

Palworld is like Pokemon with open-world exploration and…guns? The world is lively with Pokemon-esque creatures that look very familiar, tower bosses (gym leaders) in different regions, and stunning areas to build your home and farm. The visuals, creature-capturing, and cute pals give the game such a cozy feel, but there are aspects of the game like raids and home deterioration that make it feel more intense. You can make it more cozy by turning off raids and building/structure decay. You can absolutely play this game as a home and farm builder while catching pals – I have 130+ hours on the game and most was spent in a co-op world. Set off on a new Pokemon-esque adventure with your friends!

7. Popucom

Popucom is another cozy co-op platformer game that I adore. It utilizes color as a core mechanic – each player selects one of four colors before venturing off to overcome challenges on an unknown planet. Play with up to three friends to defeat silly enemies and solve complex color-related puzzles. This was one of my favorite multiplayer cozy games last year!

Play as the cutest animals in the most hilarious gamemodes. I played Party Animals on release with friends and loved all the chaotic game modes – from trying to throw each other off a plane to slip-and-slide hockey to Mario Kart-esque racing. There will ragdoll physics, there will be screaming, and there will be a fun time!
Fight your friends as puppies, kittens and other fuzzy creatures in PARTY ANIMALS! Paw it out with your friends remotely, or huddle together for chaotic fun on the same screen. Interact with the world under our realistic physics engine. Did I mention PUPPIES?

Unravel Two is a touching puzzle-platform game where you and your friend are little Yarnys (yarn creatures). The world is inspired by real Scandinavian locations, and while it starts dreary and cold, it’ll gradually flourish in nature as you play through the story. Swing, jump, and slide to solve puzzles with your friend!
When you cut ties to the past, new bonds form. Build relationships with other Yarnys in local co-op or as a single player, fostering friendship and support as you journey together.
11. Coral Island

My friend recently recommended Coral Island so I gave it a try and I’m having a lot of fun! You can play with up to 3 friends to grow crops, build a cozy farm, and explore the island’s mysteries together. What makes this farming sim feel so unique is that environmental themes are interwoven into the game – i.e. there’s underwater diving and you can help clean the ocean floor! (bonus: there’s merfolk!!). I can definitely see myself spending another 50+ hours on this game with friends!
