Dungeon Meshi has provided the season with great laughs and hearty meals. I’m with Marcille and would NEVER want to eat a monster...because that's gross! HOWEVER, some of these monster meals are screaming at me literally. These are the best dishes in Dungeon Meshi ranked! 

9. Insect Snacks

I will eat mushrooms, I will eat griffins, I will eat a fucking dragon, but I draw the line at BUGS. I’m a sucker for something sweet and salty but not creepy-crawly! I will not be able to look past this gross gross gross! Triple EW! 0 stars! Tomato tomato!!

8. Sky Fish and Chips

For Marcille, the Sky Fish and Chips cannot be higher on the list. This dish is in our world for sure, but the difference is that the Sky Fish was hand-drawn by Marcille! While unique, it’s not flashy and simply too sad to be higher on the list.

7. Hippogriff Soup Dumplings

Eating hippogriff does not sit right with me- I prefer griffin thank you! Fortunately, I love soup dumplings! The dumplings are also a little too simple for my liking, but it’d be wrong not to include them. The only thing stopping this from ranking higher is its use of hippogriff meat. 

6. Jack-o'-Lantern Potage and Sauteed Dryad Buds with Cheese

At first, this dish was never to touch this list because WHY IS IT LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?? Put a blindfold or something on it for the love of anime! But then I  paid attention to the meal. A buttery and cheesy dish with a warm pumpkin potage sounds so cozy; I won’t think about it looking at me too much. 

5. Boiled Mimic

What is boiled mimic if not crab legs??? I would demolish this faster than humanly possible. The ONLY reason this is not ranked higher is because it's not in a seafood boil-like dish. Throw some boiled cockatrice eggs, some potatoes with some griffin broth, and a little slime on the side!! I’m cooking, you know it!

4. Let's Cutlet the Dragon to Pieces

Despite the name, this katsu doesn’t contain any dragon, but Giant Frog instead! If you ignore that you're eating a frog, it could be very good! The wine and onion sauce it's paired with also compliments it well! Honestly, a solid dish to take on a dragon, but call me when it’s actually dragon and not frog…yuck. 

3. Man-Eating Plant Tart

This dish might be a shock, but it's appealing to me! The party said the consistency is more of a quiche and is salty. I assume that the fruit used in the tart is savory, similar to a tomato! Shenshi used several parts of the man-eating plants, from the crust to the seeds! For this, the dish is higher on the list; the whole point of eating monsters is to be resourceful!

2. Soul Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict? No Soul Eggs Benedict! I will make my reservations MONTHS in advance to try this dungeon brunch. The harpy eggs have more flavor than our classic chicken eggs, paired with barometz, a top-tier dish! This meal looks better than any breakfast I could get in a restaurant. I’m jealous of these 2d characters!

1. Huge Scorpion and Walking Mushroom Hotpot

Now this, THIS is what I call a meal! Give me a side of mimic Shenshi, and my life is yours. I will devour this meal quicker than a man-eating plant. This for the first meal Senshi makes for the group was a great choice. I would also keep eating dungeon monsters if he could make them taste this good!

The party has made so many great meals together. Which ones did I forget to mention, and would you want to try any?
