Halloween is this week, so here are some Anime Halloween Costumes for non-cosplayers! You do not need to be a cosplayer to show your love for anime. And even you are, cosplaying on Halloween is so draining! Use these simple anime Halloween costumes to get inspired. Who knows, this could start your cosplay journey!

My Hero Academia

A recognizable anime costume that's easy to thrift, is the MHA uniform. A blue skirt/pants can easily be ordered or thrifted. Either a polo or a short sleeve button will give it the needed prep. Though the blazer isn't necessary, it is easy to make. After thrifting a gray blazer you can glue on teal fabric for the accents. You can opt to wear a wig to make it a specific character. Alternatively, you can make an original character and cosplay as them. Bonus points if you make a quirk. Either way have fun and make the costume your own!

Light Yagami and L

A super simple duo cosplay is the classic Light Yagami and L. For Light you'll just need a button up shirt, khaki pants and a brown blazer. The blazer may seem hard to find, but check out a thrift shop. L is even easier as all you really need is a large white sweater. You can get really fun with the makeup to imitate the bags under his eyes. For bottoms you can stick with jeans, but I think leggings will do too! To really make this a duo cosplay get some handcuffs. Commit to the bit. 

Luffy

Luffy's outfit is a classic even non anime fans will get it. There have been so many different cosplay interpretations of his look so have fun with it. All you need is a red vest! If you can’t find a vest any red top would do! As for bottoms you only need a pair of jean shorts. If you live in a colder climate sub in longer jeans. The key to this costume is the straw hat! Don’t have the vest or can’t wear shorts, the straw hat will sell it! 

Chainsaw man

If you’re going out as a group, Chainsaw man is perfect! For this group everyone needs a white button up and black pants. Each of the characters wear their uniforms differently. Power has a blue zip up and Aki is loyal to his blazer. You can have a lot of fun with this! Depending on your hair color you don’t need to wear a wig. The hardest part of this cosplay is the black tie. If you aren't lucky enough to thrift one, they’re affordable to order online. 

Killua

The drip king Killua has many iconic fits in Hunter x Hunter. His most iconic fit is easy to put together. A white shirt is inexpensive if you don’t already have one. Baggy or basketball shorts would be best, butt fitted shorts work too. A blue long sleeve shirt is what sells this look. Whether you do a turtleneck or not is optional, but the former is iconic. You can make a quick badge out of construction paper, or paint over an old badge.

Kiki

Why be a scary witch when you can be a cute witch! Kiki from Kiki’s delivery is a super quick cosplay that you already have in your closet. The color of Kiki’s dress can be either blue or black. A simple dress would work best for this. If it’s too cold where you are, a pair of black leggings underneath will help. The most important piece of this cosplay is the red bow. Ribbon is inexpensive and can be find some at a dollar store. You can sub the ribbon for a bandanna as well. While that’s all you need to be recognizable there are many witchy accessories you can add. A broom either a witchy straw broom or a broom from home will elevate the look. Kiki also travels with a messenger bag, which is perfect for trick or treating! 

Sailor Moon Casual fits

A fun group idea are the casual sailor moon fits! My friends and I did this one year, and it was super easy for everyone to compile. Going for their iconic fits will make the group recognizable. Rei’s pink overalls is a must. Pluto’s orange crop top an jeans is a cute spooky look. For ultimate spookiness, try Hotoru’s all black outfit. There tons of ideas with these girls!
